Agreement

By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or place an order.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Our products

lekkerklei sells handmade, natural playdough made with food-grade ingredients. Product descriptions, colours, and images on our website are for illustration. Because our products are handmade with natural colourants, slight variation in shade and texture is normal and not a defect.

While our playdough is made from food-grade ingredients, it contains wheat/gluten and a high salt content. It is strictly a toy and not intended for consumption. Suitable for ages 3+ under direct adult supervision. Not suitable for children under 3 years. See our product safety & ingredients page for full details.

Placing an order

  1. Browse products on our website and add items to your cart.
  2. Proceed to checkout and send your order via WhatsApp with your name, phone number, and delivery details. When you initiate checkout via WhatsApp, your order details and messages are processed through Meta's WhatsApp platform in addition to our own systems.
  3. We confirm your order, stock availability, and total price in South African Rand (ZAR). Delivery is a flat R120 within South Africa, free on orders of R1,200 or more (product subtotal before delivery), or free collection in Potchefstroom — see delivery.
  4. We send a secure Bob Pay payment link. Your order is confirmed once payment is received.
  5. We prepare and dispatch your order, or arrange collection as agreed.

A contract is formed when we confirm your order and you pay via the payment link we provide. Until payment is received, we cannot guarantee stock availability.

Pricing and payment

All prices on our website are in South African Rand (ZAR). Product prices are shown on the shop page. Delivery is a flat R120 within South Africa, free on orders of R1,200 or more (product subtotal before delivery), or free for collection in Potchefstroom. Product prices exclude delivery.

We accept payment via Bob Pay. We do not accept cash on delivery unless explicitly agreed in writing.

Delivery

Delivery terms are set out in our delivery policy. Delivery is R120 nationwide, free on orders of R1,200 or more, or free collection in Potchefstroom; timeframes are confirmed when we process your order.

Returns and refunds

Our returns & refunds policy explains when we offer replacements or refunds — including if you change your mind within 7 days of receiving your order and send the items back unused (you pay return postage; we refund you in full, including the original delivery fee). That promise also covers your cooling-off right under ECTA section 44. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

Cooling-off period

Under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), section 44, you may have a statutory 7-day cooling-off period from the date you receive goods purchased through an electronic transaction. We honour that the same way as a change of mind under our returns & refunds policy: tell us within 7 days of receipt and send the items back unused — we'll refund you in full, and the only cost to you is the return postage. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights where they apply.

Privacy

We handle your personal information in accordance with our privacy policy and POPIA. When you contact us or place an order via WhatsApp, information you share (including your name, phone number, and order details) is transmitted through Meta's WhatsApp platform. We recommend you read our privacy policy before placing an order.

Website use

You may use our website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

  • Copy, scrape, or reproduce our content without permission
  • Attempt to interfere with the website's security or operation
  • Use our branding or product images for commercial purposes without consent

Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, images, logos, and design — is owned by lekkerklei unless otherwise stated. You may not use it without our written permission.

Limitation of liability

We take care to describe our products accurately and pack orders securely. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under South African law, including under the Consumer Protection Act.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website at the time you place an order applies to that order.
